ATTLEBORO, MASS. 鈥?Dorothy B. Skinner Voikos McCullough, 91, of Attleboro, MA, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Home and Hospice Care, Providence, RI. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, February 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Peter Herkis and Evelyn stanley trinkflaschen Desmarais Skinner.Dorothy was educated in the Attleboro school system and, at the age of 46, Ms. McCullough went back to school and earned her high school equivalency certificate in Sanford, Maine, where she resided for several years before moving to the Bangor, Maine area. It was in Maine that she established a long-standing career as a self-employed antique dealer, selling at antique shows throughout New England for more than thirty years. She was a loving and devoted mother who always put her family first. She had many friends at Hope Gardens Senior Living in Attleboro where she lived.Along with her mother, she served as an American Red Cross Grey Lady during and after WWII. Ms. McCullough later became a member of the Gold Star Wives of America, Inc., an organization started at the end of World War II consisting of thousands of widows from that war and from all the wars that have followed. Her husband, John Voikos, died during World War II. She organized stanley kubek the Providence, RI chapter of Gold Star Wives of America, and was elected the first president.
